NEW DELHI :- Using the successful formula of assembly elections in three states, the BJP revealed the names of more than one-third of its candidates prior to the announcement of Lok Sabha elections. Along with him, Rajnath Singh will again contest from Lucknow and Amit Shah from Gandhinagar.

Union Minister Bhupender Yadav has been given ticket from Alwar in Rajasthan, Mansukh Mandaviya from Porbandar in Gujarat and Rajeev Chandrasekhar from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, and Biplab Deb, former Chief Minister of Tripura, have also received tickets for lok sabha election.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has been re-nominated from Kota. Usually, the BJP replaces a substantial number of faces on its candidate list. However, the shift in the list provided so far is only noticeable in states where an opposition coalition has formed a new equation or where there is a strong anti-incumbency wave against the candidate.

Announcement of four new candidates in Delhi

Delhi is a great example of this where there has been an alliance between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party. The party has given four new names from the list of five candidates released so far. Sushma Swaraj’s daughter Bansuri Swaraj is the lo from New Delhi. A big reason for the change of some names in states like Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh is that many MPs were made to contest the assembly elections there for lok sabha election.
