Air India has been owned by the Tata Group since January 2022. In the past few weeks, the company has let go of over 180 non-flying workers.

These employees were laid off because they couldn't use VRS or reskilling chances, according to the airline.

Since the acquisition, non-flying personnel have been reallocated based on organizational requirements and merit to simplify the business model.

Vihaan.AI's transformative program offers two rounds of VRS to construct a more flexible and effective organizational structure to support growth and ambition.

Despite these precautions, fewer than 1% of employees could not take advantage of the opportunity, resulting in layoffs.

The airline didn't say how many people were let go exactly But Domestic aviation traffic rose 4.8% yearly to ₹1.26 crore last month.

While aircraft delays impacted almost 1.55 million customers, Air India's market share climbed to 12.8% in February, indicating aviation sector improvements.
