Ten persons were injured in the incident in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru: On Friday, a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory, the bomb disposal squad, and the dog squad looked into the explosion that occurred at The Rameshwaram Cafe in Whitefield on Thursday. Ten individuals were hurt in the blast. In accordance with sections 307, 471 of the IPC and 16, 18, and 38 of the UAPA, the Bengaluru police have filed a formal complaint. Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substance Act have also been introduced. G Parmeshwara, the home minister for Karnataka, said that the suspect arrived via bus route number 26.
Top updates on the Rameshwaram Cafe explosion in Bengaluru are as follows:
- According to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the suspect entered the cafe wearing a mask and a hat, set the timer, and then detonated it. “Today, the home minister and deputy chief minister paid a visit to the area. Today, I’ll visit the hospital and the location as well. I’m not sure whether this is an organization’s product or not. A thorough inquiry is under progress. The BJP shouldn’t get involved in this political game. The explosions in Bengaluru and Mangalore are unrelated. The explosion is still being looked into. Following the findings, appropriate action will be taken,” he said.
- The suspect seemed to have arrived at the café by a public bus, according to remarks made by Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara on Saturday morning. He said that in search of tangible proof, the police are going through CCTV video. “We have formed a number of teams. We have some CCTV video that we have gathered. That was the route taken by a BMTC bus at the time of the explosion. It is known to us that he arrived via bus. The accused will be taken into custody as soon as we can,” he said.
- According to G Parameshwara, the explosion was timed. Our groups are doing well. For the explosion, a timer was used, and the FSL team is working on it. Our meeting is at 1:00 PM. The discussion of the bombing with senior police personnel will be chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah “said he.
- The Karnataka government has formed 8 teams to probe the
blast. Deputy CM Shivakumar said on Friday that a man kept a small bag at the Rameshwaram cafe. The bag exploded an hour later. “It
was a low-intensity blast. A youth came and kept a small bag, which exploded
after an hour. About 10 people received injuries. 7-8 teams have been formed to
probe the incident. We are looking from all angles. I ask every Bangalorean not
to worry,” he said.
- According to ANI, a security officer who was outside the café when the explosion occurred saw it happen. The motel was full with patrons. Abruptly, there was a tremendous noise, and there was fire inside the hotel, injuring people.
- The guy seems to be between 28 and 30 years old, according to DK Shivakumar. Raaga idli was his breakfast choice when he arrived at the eatery. But when the food arrived, he paid for it and walked out without eating.
- A bag containing an IED was stored by the guy. It included a timer set for one hour. There was a lady seated with six other customers, and an officer reported that the bag was laying behind her.
- At 1:00 PM, the explosion happened. The location was Rameshwaram Cafe. After buying Rava Idli from the counter and placing the bag next to a tree (which is next to the café), a young guy, who seemed to be in his 28s or 30s, exited the cafe. Shivakumar said, “The blast happened an hour later.”
- Friday, a group from the NIA went to the blast scene. A minister in the Union government named Pralhad Joshi asked the NIA to look into the blast. “This explosion is completely unacceptable. The NIA should look into it, and the state government should support this.” Those who are becoming fanatical are backed and pushed by Congress, which is why these things are happening, he said.
- According to Joshi, the blast was also caused by radicalization in the state that is run by the Congress party. Besides that, he talked about the supposedly pro-Pakistan signs in the Karnataka chamber. “The video of Vidhana Soudha carrying pro-Pakistan signs might not have happened if the state’s Congress government had taken it seriously.” They handled the situation in the Vidhana Soudha in a “silly” and “casual” way. He said, “What happens is that radicalization rises and then turns into terrorism when there is more appeasement politics.”
- On Saturday, the police commissioner of Bengaluru said that the police are following up on a number of leads. “The investigation into what happened at the Rameshwaram cafe is still going strong.” Several groups are working on different ideas that have been found so far. “Because of how sensitive the case is and how it affects security, the media is asked to stay out of the way and work with us,” he wrote on X.
